34 Agencies Named as United Way Recipients
Orange County’s United Way will distribute more than $2.5 million to 34 local health and human services agencies, beginning this month.
More than 289,000 residents of the county are expected to benefit, officials said.
Among the agencies to receive funds from the United Way are the Girls and Boys Club of Garden Grove, $180,000; and Olive Crest Homes and Services for Abused Children, $141,000.
This year the agency focused on youth development as an area of need, along with preventing family violence, enhancing child care and development, strengthening families in crisis, assisting the homeless and improving community health.
