Why Would the Vikings Want to Play in L.A.?
Mike Downey fails to point out that even though the Vikings may be looking for a good home, the Coliseum sure isn’t it.
If the Vikings are unhappy with the Metrodome, why on earth would they want to play in the L.A. Coliseum? Especially when one realizes every professional team (except soccer) has bailed out of it. Even the money-grubbing NFL won’t back a team in the Coliseum--despite missing out on the millions of TV dollars an L.A. team would bring in.
Sadly, Mark Ridley-Thomas and his cohorts on the City Council have treated anyone with a viable stadium plan as either a criminal or a kook, thereby delaying or maybe even eliminating L.A.’s chance of ever having a pro football team.
