Theme Sought for Conejo Valley Days

Share

Organizers of Conejo Valley Days are asking Ventura County residents to come up with a catchy slogan for the annual five-day western-themed carnival.

Whoever thinks of the best one-liner to represent the 42nd fair will receive $100 toward his or her favorite charity, a belt buckle and a ride in the Conejo Valley Days parade.

Next year, the carnival will begin at the end of April and will be held at Conejo Creek Park off Janss Road.

Past slogans have included “Country tunes under western moons,” “Western kicks in ‘96,” “Rabbits, oaks and good old folks” and “Blue jeans and country dreams.”

Aside from providing a lot of community fun each year, the fair--which attracts an average of about 50,000 visitors--is used to raise thousands of dollars for area charities.

Each contest applicant may submit up to five proposed themes. Submissions are due by Nov. 30 and should be mailed to CVD Theme Contest, P.O. Box 4589, Thousand Oaks 91362.
