Blaze Damages Church; Officials Seek Cause
An early morning fire damaged a Pico Rivera church but no one was hurt, authorities said Tuesday.
The cause of the blaze at Rivera First Baptist Church at 9141 Burke St. is under investigation, said Los Angeles County fire dispatcher Art Marrujo.
The fire began about 5:30 a.m. and burned through the roof.
“Firefighters battled the smoke and flames for a half-hour before extinguishing it,” Marrujo said.
