A 34-year-old man who was wounded in a stabbing early Friday morning ran to his neighbor’s door for help before he collapsed and later died at the hospital, police said.

The victim, whose name was withheld Friday as police sought to contact his next of kin, was stabbed about 5:50 a.m. in his apartment in the northwest corner of the Chaparral apartment complex at 1221 N. State College Blvd., according to Anaheim Police Sgt. Joe Vargas.

“He then ran next door for help, but before he was able to speak, he collapsed,” Vargas said. He said the victim died soon after he was rushed to the UCI Medical Center in Orange.

No arrests were made, and police had no suspects or motive, Vargas said. On Friday, yellow police tape marked off the small yard in front of the victim’s apartment and the parking lot area behind the home, which borders the rear edge of the complex.
