TONIGHT’S GAMES
* LONG BEACH STATE (1-0) at KANSAS STATE (1-0) 5 p.m., KPLS (830)--The young 49ers go on the road for the first time. In a 93-74 thumping of Western Carolina, Kansas State forward Manny Dies scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. At 6 feet 9, he could spell trouble for Long Beach State, which will have no one bigger than 6-8 Grant Stone. Ian Milley (6-10) is out for a month because of a broken finger suffered in the 49ers’ 53-51 opening victory over Florida A&M.; Kansas State also features a new point guard, Duane Davis, who scored 10 points against Western Carolina in his first game since transferring from Arizona State. The 49ers turned the ball over only 13 times, four in the second half, in the opener, but shot only 31%. And they must get more than the seven assists from four players.
