‘Lighting the Pier’ Drive to Help Youths
The Huntington Youth Shelter has embarked on a project called “Lighting the Pier” to raise donations to help homeless and runaway children.
Organizers will place holiday lights, bought by donors, on the Huntington Beach Pier. Proceeds will help provide shelter, food and counseling to needy youths.
A community lighting ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. today at the pier. A giant holiday greeting card will be located at the Pier Plaza and will include the names and greetings from those purchasing the lights.
The shelter also needs canned food for holiday feasts.
