Sheriff’s investigators hope witnesses will come forward with information about an attack on a Ventura County woman last week.
The woman, whom authorities did not identify, was involved in a traffic accident near Cascade Avenue and Panamint Court in Westlake about 10 p.m. on Sept. 24. While she examined the damage to her car, a man struck her and stole her purse, which contained a large amount of cash, sheriff’s officials said. The man, described as 6 feet tall, 185 pounds, with black hair and a mustache, fled in a black hatchback, possibly a Honda Civic or an Izusu.
Anyone who knows anything about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 494-8255. Those who provide information that leads to the robber’s arrest can receive up to $1,000 from Crime Stoppers.
