Hamilton’s 60-Yard Dash in Final Seconds Lifts Valencia, 20-14

Quarterback Brian Hamilton ran 60 yards for a touchdown with 23 seconds to play and give Valencia High a 20-14 victory over Chaminade in a nonleague game Friday night at Chaminade.

Hamilton, who completed nine of 17 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 92 yards in nine carries, faded to pass on a fourth-and-three play from the Valencia 40-yard line before taking off downfield.

Hamilton and Duane Miller connected for a 63-yard touchdown pass play to tie the score, 7-7, early in the second quarter and Hamilton threw a two-yard scoring toss to Manuel White to give the Vikings (3-1) a 14-7 lead early in the fourth quarter.

Matt Markis rushed for 177 yards in 22 carries and gave Chaminade (0-4) a 7-0 lead when he scored on a five-yard run early in the first quarter. His two-yard touchdown run enabled Chaminade to tie the score, 14-14, with 3:40 to play.
