Quartz Hill 19, Saugus 15--Chris Vaughn of Quartz Hill forced a fumble late in the game, preserving the victory at Saugus.

Quartz Hill (3-1) trailed, 14-12, when, on the first play of the fourth quarter Erik Holtfreter picked off a deflected pass intended for David Van Duzee and returned it 32 yards for the decisive touchdown.

Holtfreter, a senior quarterback and defensive back, shined. On offense, he completed 14 of 23 passes for 126 yards and one touchdown, and rushed 11 times for 98 yards.

Sean Stoddard rushed for 183 yards in 17 carries for Saugus (0-4), including a 48-yard touchdown run.
