Sports Marketing Executive Joins Oakley Board

William D. Schmidt has joined the board of Oakley Inc., a Foothill Ranch designer and manufacturer of eyewear and athletic equipment, increasing the number of directors to seven. Schmidt is vice president of worldwide sports marketing for Quaker Oats Co.’s Gatorade brand. Before he joined Quaker in 1984 as director of sports marketing, he was vice president of sports for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee, managing eight sports and 63 training sites.

John L. Price has been named vice president, general counsel and secretary for HomeBase Inc. in Irvine, a chain of home improvement warehouses. The opening was created when HomeBase began trading on the New York Stock Exchange July 29. Price was assistant general counsel at 20th Century Industries, an insurance holding company in Woodland Hills. He has also been in private practice, and served as vice president of legal for the Geneva Cos. in Irvine and corporate counsel for Smith International Inc. in Newport Beach.

Ginger Sherman has been appointed president of Prudential Referral Services, a subsidiary of Prudential Real Estate Affiliates Inc. in Irvine. She will continue to serve as senior vice president of customer development for Prudential Real Estate. Before joining the company, she was with Pepsico for more than seven years, where she held marketing positions with Pizza Hut Inc. and Taco Bell Corp.

Mark S. Latimer has joined Insignia Commercial Group Inc. in Irvine as director of leasing for the Orange County region. He had been with the Seeley Co. for more than 13 years, and was made a partner in 1990.

Rohan Sachdev has been appointed an investment consultant for Glendale Federal Bank’s Laguna Hills and San Juan Capistrano offices. He was previously an investment consultant with American Savings Bank and before that worked at Paine Webber in New York City.

Floyd K. Eide has joined Irvine Sensors Corp. in Costa Mesa as vice president and general manager of the firm’s new Microelectronics Products division. He was formerly chief operating officer and vice president of engineering at Dense-Pac Microsystems. Eide has also held management positions at Northrop Electronics, Ampex Semiconductor and Fairchild Semiconductor.

William J. Bowers and Richard J. Dadamo have joined the newly formed board of directors of Productivity Enhancement Products in Laguna Hills. Bowers is a co-founder and former chief executive and chairman of MSI Data Corp., now Symbol Technologies Inc. Dadamo, president of his own management consultant firm, RJD Associates Inc., previously held senior executive positions at TRW Inc., TRW Fujitsu, Electronic Memories & Magentics, Univac and Burroughs.

Betty Hyde has been elected president of the Orange County chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers. She is owner of Ultimate Designs, Interiors in Laguna Niguel.

Bruce Brosius has been named vice president of development for Monitoring Automation Systems in Irvine, a provider of monitoring and security software. He joined the company from Quality Systems, where he was vice president of research and development.

Chris Harrington has joined Toshiba America Information Systems Inc.’s Telecommunications Systems division in Irvine as vice president of business planning. He previously spent 18 years at AT&T;, most recently as project director/general manager of the VoiceSpan project team.

Patrick Duggan has been appointed vice president of operations for OCB Reprographics in Irvine. Duggan, who has been with the company for 21 years, was appointed sales manager in 1990. Succeeding him as sales manager is Tom Johnson, who had been sales representative.

Nicholas Rosier has been appointed chief financial officer of Prolong International Corp. in Anaheim. He had been controller since March. Before joining Prolong, Rosier was controller and financial accounting manager for two divisions of DePuy Inc., a manufacturing company in the orthopedic industry.

John Bernard has joined Picerne Associates, an owner of apartment units, as director of acquisitions in the Laguna Beach office. He was formerly director of acquisitions in the western U.S. for Realty Investment Co.
