Two of five firefighters who suffered first- and second-degree burns battling a fire at a Hollywood appliance store remained hospitalized Saturday, Los Angeles Fire Department officials said.

Firefighters Bob Aragon and Fred Magalona were burned on the neck and hands as flames engulfed the top two floors of the three-story Electric Emporium on Highland Avenue, a department spokesman said.

They were in stable condition at the Grossman Burn Center in Sherman Oaks.

It took more than 100 firefighters about 90 minutes to bring the fire under control, officials said.

There were reports of people trapped on the third floor. No one was found, but the building will be searched again, officials said.

Arson investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
