Buzak Earns Shutout Against Dragons
Mike Buzak stopped 24 shots and Stephane Morin scored twice as the Long Beach Ice Dogs blanked the San Antonio Dragons, 5-0, Saturday night for their second consecutive shutout in the International Hockey League.
Buzak, in his second start, posted his fifth career shutout by stopping all seven Dragon power-play chances.
Long Beach scored three second-period goals.
Andrei Vasilyev fed the puck from the blueline to Morin who was alone 20 feet in front of the net at the 6:06 mark. Vasilyev found Patrik Augusta with a centering pass on the power play for the Ice Dogs’ second goal.
