Visualize This: The Visual Effects Society has invited college instructors, college students, high school educators and visual effects practitioners to its statewide educational program on the visual effects profession.

Participants will get oversight and direction and an idea of what the future holds for visual-effects artists from those currently working in the field.

* Film Fest: Web surfers will be able to take part the 11th annual AFI Los Angeles International Film Festival without leaving their chairs. * Louisiana Purchase: Today marks the 194th anniversary of the Senate’s ratification of the Louisiana Purchase, and you can get a history lesson on the deal at https://crt.state.la.us/crt/purch.htm.
