Marquis Grissom extended his hitting streak in the World Series to 15 games. He needs a hit in each of the next two games to tie the Series record set by Hank Bauer of the New York Yankees.

Marlin outfielder Jim Eisenreich hadn’t played much during the postseason, and he’s not a rookie anymore. But that combination had made Eisenreich the right guy to be the Marlin designated hitter in Game 3.
According to Eisenreich.
“I’m 38, so down time is good once in a while,” he joked before hitting a key two-run homer. “But the down time for me is spent staying loose, and both mentally and physically staying into the game.
“My main job here is to hit. I’ve always liked hitting, and I guess that’s why I’ve done pretty well.
