Nord Directs El Dorado Past Century

Mitch Nord threw three touchdown passes to Aaron Campbell as El Dorado defeated Century, 28-10, Friday night in Empire League play at Valencia High.

Nord directed El Dorado (6-1, 2-0) on a 14-play, 63-yard drive to open the game that consumed 7 minutes 39 seconds.

Steve Warfield went two yards on fourth down for the score.

Warfield led El Dorado in rushing with 111 yards in 17 carries.

Century (2-5, 0-2) narrowed the lead to 7-2 when Kevin Watson blocked a Matt McRay punt in the end zone.

From that point on, it was all El Dorado.

With 18 seconds remaining in the first half, Nord found Campbell open in the end zone from 17 yards for the score. The two combined on the two-point conversion to give El Dorado a 15-2 halftime lead.

El Dorado increased its lead to 22-2 when Campbell caught a 12-yard pass from Nord with 6:06 left in the third quarter.

Nord passed nine yards to Campbell for a 28-2 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Century got its only score on a Ramiro Carasa 51-yard run midway through the fourth quarter. The junior running back rushed for 101 yards in 10 carries.
