Police arrested two men and a juvenile early Saturday on suspicion of beating and robbing a man while he was stopped at a red light in Oxnard, authorities said.

According to police, 20-year-old Gerardo Avalos of Oxnard was stopped at Pleasant Valley and Bard roads when two men approached him on the driver’s side. Two men struck Avalos several times in the face while a third stole a cellular phone from the passenger seat and fled.

A short time later, officers stopped a vehicle--matching a description given by the victim--near Bard Road and San Juan Avenue and arrested Jose Chavez, 20, Felix Becerra, 19, and a 16-year-old boy, all of Oxnard.
