Village Christian 21, Kilpatrick 20--Mike Santiago intercepted a pass at the Kilpatrick 39-yard line with 1:23 remaining to preserve a victory for the Crusaders (3-3, 1-1) at Kennedy High.

Jeff Johnston of Village Christian completed 10 of 16 for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Johnston scored the Crusaders’ first touchdown on a one-yard sneak.

David Romberger rushed for 62 yards in 17 carries and caught a seven-yard touchdown pass from Johnston.

Kilpatrick (3-3, 1-1) trailed, 21-0, at halftime but pulled to within a point on a 24-yard scoring option pass from Jermaine Marshall to Joseph Walker with 5:21 left. But running back Daryl Colbert was stopped a yard short on a two-point conversion attempt.

Colbert finished with 91 yards in 19 carries and Marshall added 77 yards in 20 carries.
