Tickets for the John R. Wooden Classic High School Invitational, a boys’ basketball tripleheader Dec. 4 at the Pond, go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Pond box office, through Ticketmaster at (714) 740-2000 or at the participating schools. Tickets are $8-$25.
Mater Dei, the five-time defending Southern Section Division I champion, will meet Encino Crespi at 7 p.m., and Los Alamitos plays national power Hyatt (Md.) DeMatha at 9:30 p.m. The tripleheader opens with Glendora vs. Chino Hills Ayala at 5:30 p.m.

Wooden Classic--A story Tuesday incorrectly listed UCLA’s opponent in the upcoming Wooden Classic basketball tournament. The Bruins will play New Mexico Dec. 6.
The high school event is planned in conjunction with the fourth annual Wooden Classic college basketball doubleheader, Dec. 6, which will feature UCLA vs. New Mexico State at 2:30 p.m., preceded by Stanford vs. Georgia at noon.
