Players Have Big Hopes for Trip

Share

Winning the first game of their five-game trip was huge for the Kings, according to goaltender Stephane Fiset, who gained his 100th victory Sunday at Tampa Bay.

“We want to finish this road trip with a record over .500,” said Fiset about the 4-5-3 Kings. “We know that he have to keep pace with the other teams in our division and not get behind. That’s why these are big games for us.’

King Coach Larry Robinson said his team is slowly starting to show some maturity, which may help keep the Kings from losing as many close games.

“Some nights the plays are just not there,” Robinson said. “So, that’s when you have to just go out there and gut it out by dumping the puck and playing smart. . . . That’s what we did [Sunday night].”
