CALENDAR

The Glendale and Moorpark college men’s cross-country teams will renew their rivalry today in the Western State Conference championships at Arroyo Verde Park in Ventura.

Glendale, 1995 state champion, defeated Moorpark by two points in each of the first two WSC meets of the season. Julio Serratos of the Vaqueros has won six of seven races, and is supported by Rafael Ramos.

Top runners for Moorpark, defending state champion, are Danny Oliva, Uzziel Gray, Jesus Villavicencio and Rey Coronado.

The meet will start at 3 p.m., with the women’s 5,000-meter race, followed by the men’s four-mile run at 3:45.

Hart High can claim its first Foothill League girls’ tennis title since 1987 with a victory over Burroughs, the three-time defending champion, today at 2 p.m. at Burroughs.

Hart (14-0, 9-0) defeated Burroughs (11-4, 8-1) in games, 76-70, after tying in sets 9-9 when the teams met earlier this month.
