Teen Shot, Robbed by Youths on Bicycles
A Costa Mesa teenager was shot and grazed in the head as he and a friend were robbed of their bicycle and skateboard, Costa Mesa police said.
About 10 p.m. Thursday, the two 17-year-old Costa Mesa boys were at TeWinkle Memorial Park when a group of about four youths confronted them and demanded money, police said.
One of the robbers pulled a gun and fired, grazing one of the victims.
The youths took a bicycle and a skateboard before fleeing on their bikes, police said. The injured youth was treated and released from Western Medical Center-Santa Ana.
