Volunteers and their dogs are being sought by the Orange County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for their pet-assisted therapy program.

Volunteers and canines visit convalescent homes, rehabilitation centers and children’s homes across the county to lift spirits and entertain residents.

Volunteers must be at least 18; dogs must be 1 or older. Both must attend an orientation meeting and observe a visit before joining the program. The next orientation meeting will be Sept. 27.
