Peterson Advances at Beach Event

Adam Peterson of Orange advanced to the quarterfinal round in the men’s open in the Mats Wilander Battle of the Beaches tennis tournament Wednesday at Newport Beach Tennis Club.

Peterson, a Mater Dei graduate, defeated Vo Chu of San Diego, 6-4, 6-1. Peterson will play Kelly Jones, who is seeded fifth, today.

Woodbridge High junior David Lingman was eliminated by Chris Ganz, who won, 6-1. Lingman retired in the second set.
