Air of Electricity at Anaheim Stadium?

The Walt Disney Co. and Edison International have entered into a 20-year multimillion-dollar sponsorship agreement that will change Anaheim Stadium’s name to Edison International Field of Anaheim, sources said.

Disney, which owns the Angels, will receive about $2.5 million per year. Edison will receive stadium advertising signs as part of the deal.

Angel officials refused to confirm or deny the deal, but sources said it will be announced at a press conference Monday.

Rickey Henderson was not in his customary leadoff position Saturday. It was the first time he has started for the Angels and not batted first. Henderson has batted leadoff in 26 of 30 games since being acquired in an Aug. 13 trade with the San Diego Padres.

“Every time Rickey has been traded it has been like he was the sole answer for everything,” Manager Terry Collins said. “That can be a lot of pressure on anyone. This is a way to take some of that pressure off.”

Henderson went hitless in three at-bats, dropping his batting average to .194 since coming to the Angels.

Tony Phillips batted leadoff and had one hit in five at-bats but twice stranded runners in scoring position.

The Angels used a season-high eight pitchers Saturday. Rich DeLucia, who has come back from surgery to remove an aneurysm, went 2 1/3 innings and took the loss. Among the group was Mike Bovee, who made his major league debut in the 13th and got Jay Bell to fly out to end the inning.

Pitcher Shigetoshi Hasegawa will start Tuesday’s game against the Minnesota Twins, instead of Bovee. It will be Hasegawa’s first start since May 14, when he gave up four runs in three innings against Baltimore.

“It’s a big game for us,” Collins said. “Mike Bovee has shown that he is going to be a good pitcher, but I don’t want to put him in the middle of a pennant race. We’re facing [Brad] Radke and that would be asking a lot of Mike .”

Dave Hollins made his 28th error of the season in the fourth inning when he fielded a Dean Palmer grounder and threw the ball into the stands behind first base.
