3.3 Quake Rattles Santa Paula Area
A magnitude 3.3 earthquake hit a remote area north of Santa Paula on Sunday morning, near the Sespe Condor Sanctuary, according to officials from Caltech in Pasadena.
The quake shook at 1:31 a.m. The epicenter was nine miles northeast of Santa Paula, in Los Padres National Forest, said Caltech seismologist Nick Scheckel.
No one was injured, and there were no reports of damage.
Scheckel said the shaker was a new earthquake and not an aftershock of an earlier quake.
