Refurbished Balboa Library to Reopen

Share

The Newport Beach Library’s Balboa branch, closed for remodeling since early August, will reopen Sunday.

Using $50,000 bequeathed by Roy Reiber, a library patron who died in 1993, the library has received new paint and carpeting. A children’s reading room, the Reiber Children’s Room, has been added.

Reiber spent much time during his retirement at the Balboa library. Relatives said he loved the atmosphere and befriended many of the employees.
