Developer to Present Bixby Project Details
Residents and public agencies will receive details of the proposed Old Bixby Ranch project next week when its developers are expected to file an official project outline.
City Councilwoman Patty Campbell said the plans will include a church capable of seating 3,500 people, a 25-acre retail complex, a senior care facility, a hotel and a restaurant. The plans also call for giving the city the existing 7-acre Old Ranch Tennis Club.
The development will be built on various parcels along Seal Beach Boulevard, near Lampson Avenue.
The official outline, known as a Notice of Preparation, will be circulated to all affected public and private agencies and will be available in the Mary Wilson Branch library for public review.
“This is a chance to let the developer know how the community is responding,” Campbell said.
Campbell said she hasn’t formed a final opinion on the entire project but cited some concerns about the size of the proposed church.
