2 Dye-Stained Robbers Escape

Share

After robbing a bank Friday morning, an unidentified man was stained red, at least partially, by an exploding dye-packet hidden in the money he had stuffed into his briefcase, according to police.

After the paint-and-money-spewing explosion, the robber and his accomplice fled the scene and escaped, investigators said.

At approximately 10:20 a.m., the man, brandishing a handgun, entered a Bank of America branch on West Olive Avenue and demanded money from a teller.

“He had a briefcase and he told the teller to fill it up,” said Lt. Chris Welker of the Burbank Police Department. “It would be fair to assume he got some red dye on his face--on his clothes at the very least.”

Police are still looking for the two men.
