Cable Modem System to Be Demonstrated
South County residents can try out new Internet technology available through the cable television system today at the Plaza Antonio shopping center parking lot.
Cox Communications will hold free demonstrations of its cable modem system from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., which allows computer users to download information from the Internet at speeds up to hundreds of times faster than through telephone modems.
Plaza Antonio is at Antonio Parkway near Coto de Caza Drive.
Also available will be free seminars on using the Internet as an educational resource for children. Held at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., the sessions will point out educational web sites and discuss parental control issues.
