Left wing Jeff Shevalier and center Eric Belanger signed contracts, leaving three players unsigned.

Shevalier, 23, the Kings’ fourth pick in the 1992 draft, signed a one-year deal after participating in the first two weeks of training camp without a contract.

Belanger, 19, considered one of the Kings’ top players of the future, signed a three-year deal. He is listed as day to day because of a groin injury.

Coach Larry Robinson said that three young players--centers Don MacLean and Jason Morgan and left wing Sean O’Brien--have earned additional playing time in exhibitions.

MacLean, picked in the third round of the 1996 draft, has been impressive with his awareness on the ice, and Morgan is considered the best conditioned player on the team and has seen his stock rise in training camp.
