Most Readers Say Stones Sold Out

Share

Last week we asked readers whether they thought the Rolling Stones “sold out” by signing Sprint on as a sponsor of the band’s “Bridges to Babylon” concert tour. Most of the readers said the Stones had indeed. Here is a sampling of responses.

The Stones have completely sold out. I know that people need to make money, but how much better do they want to eat? It is hard enough to get decent concert tickets without Sprint taking half. I think it is outrageous.

I do not think the Stones sold out with their sponsorship with Sprint. It seems to me the deal is keeping the ticket brokers from scooping up the prime seats as they do at most concerts. The band has said that sponsorships keep ticket prices down and help make the Stones accessible to more people. I think that makes sponsorships an excellent idea.

The Stones are only selling out like a lot of other people. I could criticize the Stones if they don’t use Sprint. Do they?

Editor’s note: Sprint is providing phone services for the tour as part of the $4-million sponsorship deal. Citing customer privacy, Sprint wouldn’t comment on whether members of the band personally use its services.
