Armed Seniors Foil Restaurant Robbery
An armed teen-ager suspected of robbing a restaurant full of senior citizens was recuperating after two of the seniors drew their own weapons and opened fire on him. “My wife and I were just there for the Early Bird specials, but I’m always ready for trouble,” Oscar Moore, a 69-year-old self-described gun fancier, told Reuters. Moore of Jacksonville, Fla., and 81-year-old Robert Guerry of Birmingham, Ala., who was seated nearby and armed with a derringer, both opened fire on the teen-age suspect at Sam’s St. Johns Seafood restaurant.
