RV Parking Limits Will Not Increase

A proposal to place more restrictions on the storing of recreational vehicles in neighborhoods was narrowly defeated this week by the City Council.

In a 3-2 vote, the council decided to keep intact a 1988 ordinance that allows homeowners to store their boats, trailers, buses, trucks and vans within 37 feet of the curb but for no more than 72 hours.

The proposed amendment would have extended the restriction to all homes regardless of how far back they were from the curb, including side yards. The change would have allowed homeowners to park their vehicles for only 72 consecutive hours or 72 hours in a month.
