The food may be down-home, but the dress is decidedly upscale at the Shark Bar Restaurant on La Cienega’s Restaurant Row. Since opening in September, it has been one of the hottest tickets in town.

The beautiful people chow down on honey-dip fried chicken, crab cakes, candied yams and Southern biscuits--and still manage to fit into their hip L.A. fashions, which range from ethnic to leather.

Soul food isn’t the only magnet. The Shark Bar is a place to be seen--and some of the best viewing is from the bar. Brocade, beads and three-piece suits. And Saturday night is the dressiest night of the week.
