Lifeguards Rescue Teenager From Sea Off Point Fermin
Lifeguards rescued a 14-year-old boy who fell into the ocean Monday while walking along the rocky Point Fermin shoreline.
The teenager was foundering about 200 feet offshore near the 800 block of West Paseo Del Mar when he was seen by a passerby about 11 a.m., said Jim Wells, city Fire Department spokesman. He had apparently been in the water for 35 to 45 minutes when he was pulled to safety.
Wells said the boy, whose identity was not immediately released, was in good condition and had no apparent injuries.
