A one-time member of the infamous Billionaire Boys Club, found guilty of his father’s 1984 murder, was ordered freed on bail Wednesday pending a new trial after his conviction was reversed on appeal.

A judge ordered Reza Eslaminia to wear an electronic monitoring device and to stay in San Mateo County except to visit his attorney and his mother in Los Angeles. His bail was set at $250,000.

Eslaminia’s retrial is set for Oct. 19, with motions scheduled for June 9.

He has hired attorney Leslie Abramson, who told reporters outside court that the now 37-year-old defendant’s conviction was “totally unjustified.”

A federal appeals court reversed his conviction in January, ruling that the jury mistakenly heard a tape recording not admitted in evidence during trial.

Eslaminia’s co-defendant, Arben Dosti, also convicted of murder, remains in prison for life without parole. Club leader Joe Hunt is also serving a term of life without parole in the San Mateo case and the Los Angeles murder of Ronald Levin.
