Arcadia Meet Is Postponed
Heavy rains forced the postponement of the evening portion of the Arcadia Invitational track and field meet at Arcadia High on Saturday.
The meet, regarded as the best regular-season invitational in the nation, has been rescheduled for April 25. The field events will start at 4 p.m. The running events will begin at 6:15.
Doug Speck, the meet’s director, postponed it at 4:30 p.m. after rain in the morning and afternoon.
It is the first time since 1978, and only the third time in the meet’s 31-year history, that the event was postponed because of rain.
