Santa Ana 16, Fullerton 5--Host Santa Ana flattened Fullerton with a nine-run first inning. Bao Vinh had two doubles and four RBIs and Rick Gonzalez had four hits and Joe Urban added two doubles for Santa Ana.

Bob Bryant had two doubles and two RBIs for Fullerton (17-17-1, 6-12).

Cypress 5, Orange Coast 3--Ron Corona (4-2) struck out 12, walked none and went the distance for Cypress (9-9, 19-17). Jude Chavez led Orange Coast (7-11, 18-16) with a double and a home run.

In the Orange Empire Conference women’s tennis tournament:

Fouret wins in upset--Fifth-seeded Tracie Fouret of Saddleback advanced to today’s semifinals at Irvine Valley, with a 6-1, 6-7, 6-1, upset victory over third-seeded Sarah Barnum of Fullerton. Fouret will face top-seeded Martha Garcia of Orange Coast, a 6-4, 6-4 winner over Saddleback’s Amber Howard.

In the other semifinal, Orange Coast’s Camella Jaeger will face Riverside’s Rosie Salcido. Fourth-seeded Jaeger defeated No. 3 Erika Dommeyer of Saddleback, 6-2, 6-2. No. 8 Salcido was a 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 upset winner over second-seeded Nadia Naffa of Saddleback.

In doubles, Howard and Dommeyer will face Garcia and Denise Poirel in the final, at 4 p.m. today.

In the Orange Empire Conference men’s tennis tournament:

Koga wins--Saddleback’s top-seeded Kunio Koga rallied to advance to today’s semifinals with a 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 victory over teammate John Capello. Koga will face Riverside’s Ed Ferreira, a 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 winner over Golden West’s J.C. Arzaga. In the other semifinal Golden West’s Jason Kasner will face Saddleback’s Dan Roditi. Kasner defeated Irvine Valley’s Ryan Hartshorn, 6-0, 6-3, and Roditi defeated Chris Hartshorn, 6-3, 5-7, 6-1.
