King Returns to the Hill for Pacific Suns’ Tryout
Eric King (Royal High, Moorpark College) hasn’t pitched in three years because of arm problems, but he is trying to make a comeback of sorts with the Pacific Suns of the independent Western League. King, 34, pitched three innings in the Oxnard-based team’s intrasquad game Saturday, allowing only one hit. The Suns this week will begin negotiations with King, who last pitched in the major leagues in 1992. . . . Randy Wolf (El Camino Real, Pepperdine) has not allowed a run in 11 innings. The left-hander, who is 2-0 for the Philadelphia Phillies’ double-A affiliate in Reading, Pa., has struck out 16, walked three and allowed four hits.
