My Favorite Weekend

Share

Great Greek: A really good Friday night would be to finish work early and go to Taverna Tony in Malibu with my fiance, John Stamos. John plays the conga, we dance and the food is amazing. My favorite dish is pita bread with teramasalata. It’s pink and creamy and fattening--a lemony, garlicky fish roe spread.

Road Tripping: Sometimes we just take off for the weekend. We love Vegas. It’s like an amusement park for adults. We run around and play slot machines, go to shows and cause trouble. We like to stay at the Hard Rock Casino.

Movie Mates: When we go to movies, it’s in the afternoon for the first show of the day. Our favorite theater is the AMC Pacific Promenade in Woodland Hills. There are 16 screens and the armrests of the chairs come up and make a little love seat.

Homemaking: Saturdays I like to build dollhouses. They come in kits and you just add the shingles and linoleum. Recently I also made a quilt. I was in a store buying fabric to make curtains for my dollhouse when I saw this book on watercolor quilts. The quilt took me six months to make, and each square is a different print. You arrange them by color and contrast to form a shape. Mine is a heart.

Entertaining: At night we play a lot of Scrabble and have friends over. A lot of them are musicians, and they will jam into the night and crash at our house. Then John gets up and makes breakfast, which is this amazing tortilla egg dish with Greek seasoning.

Great Finds: When I’m in New York, I do the high-fashion thing, but in L.A. I like to shop for antiques and vintage clothes. My favorite place is Hidden Treasures in Topanga Canyon. It really is hidden and tucked away. And there’s this strange animatronic -giraffe outside. The store carries old paintings and lamps and also vintage pieces like shawls, lace and pillowcases.
