Former Baltimore Oriole manager Earl Weaver, who had a mild heart attack last week, was released from a Miami hospital Tuesday.

“He’s just got to take it easy for the next two weeks, but he’s OK now,” his agent, Dick Gordon, said.

Weaver, who will be 68 Friday, will undergo additional tests in two weeks.

Weaver was inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame in 1996. He served two terms as Baltimore’s manager, compiling a 1,480-1,060 record in 17 seasons and winning six AL East titles and the 1970 World Series.

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays surpassed the two-million mark in home attendance. Tampa Bay joins Colorado, Florida and Arizona as the only expansion teams to accomplish the feat during their inaugural seasons.

Tampa Bay outfielder Dave Martinez (left quadriceps strain) won’t return until late next week at the earliest. Right-hander Albie Lopez (right heel bursitis) could make a minor-league rehabilitation appearance as soon as this weekend.

Cleveland Indian right-hander Dave Burba, nursing a sore left elbow, threw fastballs and curveballs without pain Tuesday.

Burba could return to the rotation Saturday or Sunday, depending on whether the Indians want Jaret Wright to go on six or seven days’ rest.
