From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Thunderstorms rumbled over the deserts and mountains of Southern California on Wednesday, carrying heavy rain, hail and high winds that damaged mobile homes and brought down power lines. The wind and rain damaged some mobile homes and downed some trees and utility lines, but there were no reports of serious injuries or major damage, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said. Hail the size of golf balls pelted the Cajon Pass in neighboring San Bernardino County, the National Weather Service said.
