Share

The Sherman Oaks Homeowners Assn. will hold a community meeting on the topic of “Immigration: The Past--The Future” on Wednesday evening.

Leading the discussion will be Uri Herscher, president of the Skirball Cultural Center in the Sepulveda Pass. Through his work at the center studying the role of immigration in the development of the United States, Herscher is considered an expert on the subject.

Herscher will pay particular attention to how immigration has positively or negatively affected Los Angeles.

“The good and the bad of immigration is actively being debated,” homeowners association President Richard Close said.

Also at the meeting, Paul Koretz, a West Hollywood city councilman and a former mayor, will discuss the benefits of smaller cities. An update also will be given on the Valley VOTE petition drive.

All area residents and businesses are invited to the free meeting beginning at 8 p.m. at The Ventura, 13920 Ventura Blvd., in Sherman Oaks.
