Gourmet Dinners to Benefit County Art Museum

“Art of the Palate ‘98,” a series of 51 gourmet dinners to raise funds for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, will be held Sept. 24 and 25.

Held in various homes across Los Angeles, each dinner will have an art theme, display a private collection and feature a special artist guest.

As a sampling, Sotheby’s Andrea Van de Kamp and August Uribe will host a gourmet dinner in the Venice studio of artist Chuck Arnoldi with Dennis Hopper as guest; the Walt Disney Co. will host a formal dinner in the studio’s Team Disney Building rotunda; Tiffany & Co.’s “Dinner Is Served” will feature rare sterling silver flatware and the art of dining at the turn of the century; and Carol and Frank Biondi of Universal Studios will host a dinner and screening in their home with guests Rosemarie and Robert Stack and Ian Birnie.

Dinners range from $225 to $1,000.
