The county’s first sports-themed ESPN store will open sometime around the holidays at MainPlace/Santa Ana, Judy Bijlani, the mall’s marketing director, said Tuesday. ESPN--The Store, as the Walt Disney Co. venture is dubbed, is one of a growing number of stores that trades on film or studio fame. It offers a variety of sports-related items that bear the X-Games brand name, which is what ESPN calls its “Extreme Games” competitions.
