Lancaster Stampeded, 4-2

Karl Thompson had three hits, drove in one run and scored another, but Lancaster suffered a 4-2 defeat to the San Bernardino Stampede at the Ranch in San Bernardino on Thursday night.

Ismael Valdes (1-0) gave up seven hits and two runs in 6 1/3 innings in his second rehabilitation start.

SUNS

Manny Gagliano’s solo home run in the 10th inning gave the Mission Viejo Vigilantes a 5-4 victory over Pacific at Oxnard.

Rafael Ozuna had three hits for the Suns, including an RBI-single in the ninth that sent the game into extra innings.

Kevin Appier (Antelope Valley) continued his rehabilitation assignment at Omaha, allowing five hits and three runs in five innings against Oklahoma. Appier is 3-2 in six starts and his ERA is 7.03.

Junior Brignac (Cleveland) doubled, singled, stole his 14th base, and is batting .237 for Eugene. Casey Cheshier (Highland, Cal State Northridge) hit a three-run home run in Eugene’s 7-3 victory over Salem-Keizer.
