Caregivers Group Given $4,850 Grant
Swift Memorial Health Care Foundation awarded a $4,850 grant to Caregivers: Volunteers Assisting the Elderly to support its Santa Paula-Fillmore program.
The nonprofit Caregivers provides free, in-home support for frail elderly people who are at risk of premature placement in care facilities.
Airport Director Named Executive of Year * Rodney Murphy, director of airports for Ventura County, has been named Airport Executive of the Year by the Southwest Chapter of the American Assn. of Airport Executives.
Murphy was recognized for his “outstanding performance, dedication and contribution to the aviation industry.” Ventura County operates airports in Camarillo and Oxnard. Southwest Chapter of the American Assn. of Airport Executives is a professional association of airport management personnel representing California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Hawaii.
Thousand Oaks Photographer Wins 1st Prize * Deborah Davis of Thousand Oaks earned first prize in the photography category for the annual “Masters in Our Midst--A Classic Competition,” hosted by the Carnegie Art Museum in Oxnard.
The event is an all-media competition and exhibit for Ventura County artists and museum members.
