Mikhail Shtalenkov made 45 saves and Rem Murray scored midway through the third period to lift the Edmonton Oilers to a 4-3 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes at Edmonton, ending the Coyotes’ 14-game unbeaten streak.

It was also the first time in 18 games that the Coyotes gave up more than two goals. The record of 19 games is held by the 1958-59 Montreal Canadiens.

The Coyotes hadn’t given up more than two goals since a 4-1 loss in their season opener Oct. 11 against the Ottawa Senators. The Coyotes’ 14-2-2 start had been the fastest in franchise history.
