Goaltender Dominik Hasek of the Buffalo Sabres recorded his 37th shutout and Philadelphia Flyer center Eric Lindros was ejected late in the first period of a game won by the Sabres, 3-0, Friday night at Buffalo.

Lindros slashed Sabre defenseman Jay McKee in the head and drew a game misconduct with 43 seconds to play in the first period. It was the second game misconduct of Lindros’ career and his first since an October 1992 game at St. Louis.

“I was surprised he got a game misconduct,” said Hasek, who made 31 saves. “I know he high-sticked someone, but I thought he would get [two minor penalties]. I was surprised by the call.”
